Moths are known for being active at night and are attracted to light sources. They have a similar life cycle to butterflies, going through stages of egg, larva (caterpillar), pupa, and adult. Moths come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and can be found in diverse habitats around the world. **

Night butterflies, on the other hand, are not a commonly recognized type of insect and are not typically found indoors. Therefore, the insect in the room is more likely to be a moth. **
